During Friday evening’s matchup, the Cleveland Cavaliers came away with a win against the Washington Wizards 113-100 away at the Capital One Arena in Washington, DC. The Cavaliers had no inactive players for the game. Simultaneously, Everyone was active for the Wizards. The win brings the Cavaliers to 1-0 in the series against the Wizards and to 3-5 in the regular season.

On the Cavaliers, Kevin Love gained 16 points, going 3/6 (50.0%) from the field in 28:53. In addition to his points, Love also managed to pull down a decent team-high 12 rebounds. Tristan Thompson scored a team-high 21 points in 35:58, shooting 8/12 (66.7%) from the field. Thompson also managed to pull down a valuable team-high 12 rebounds and got 3 steals. Darius Garland scored 15 points, shooting 6/11 (54.5%) from the field in 31:46. Garland also passed out a team-high 6 assists. Additional vital performers were Cedi Osman (who had 4 assists),Collin Sexton (who gained 16 points), and Larry Nance Jr. (who got 7 rebounds).

For the Wizards, Thomas Bryant added a team-high 23 points in 33:35, shooting 11/16 (68.8%) from the field. Additionally, Bryant also had a team-high 8 rebounds and dished 4 assists. Bradley Beal got 20 points in 38:59, albeit he struggled making his shot fall, going 8/21 (38.1%) from the field. In addition to his points, Beal also got a team-high 9 assists and pulled down 5 rebounds. Moritz Wagner added 8 points in 14:25, going 4/6 (66.7%) from the field. In addition to points, Wagner also managed to pull down a team-high 8 rebounds and added 3 blocks. Additional major performers included Troy Brown Jr. (who got 6 rebounds),Rui Hachimura (who recorded 21 points and had 7 rebounds),Isaiah Thomas (who dished out 5 assists), and CJ Miles (who pulled down 5 rebounds).

1st Quarter

The 1st Quarter started off rapidly as the Cavaliers went 9/15 from the field and 1/3 from the three point mark in the first half of the quarter for a total of 21 points. Small Forward Cedi Osman was a prime player in this principled start as he scored 7 points on 3/3 shooting (1/1 from three). In addition to his points, Osman also had 1 steal. Point Guard Darius Garland had 6 points, made 2 assists, swiped 1 steal, and managed to grab 1 rebound. Likewise, the Wizards also had no issues at the start of the period, making 7/9 from the field and 1/1 from the three point mark for a total of 16 points. Power Forward Rui Hachimura was a crucial player in this solid start for the Wizards as he boasted 5 points on 2/2 shooting (0/0 from the three point mark). In addition to points, Hachimura also dished out 1 assist.

Despite the good start to the 1st Quarter, the Cavaliers had trouble scoring to round off the quarter, recording 9 points while going 4/10 from the field and 1/5 from three. The Wizards also had problems closing up the period, boasting 10 points on 5/13 shooting (0/6 from the three point mark). The 1st Quarter closed with the Cavaliers trailing the Wizards by 4 points (30-26). Darius Garland was the largest contributor of the quarter, scoring 8 points. 2nd Quarter

The 2nd Quarter launched quickly as the Cavaliers went 7/12 from the field and 1/5 from three in the first half of the quarter for a total of 23 points. Kevin Porter Jr. was a crucial contributor in this principled start as he gained 9 points on 3/4 shooting (0/1 from three). Porter Jr. also grabbed 1 rebound. In comparison, the Wizards struggled at the start of the period, scoring 4/12 from the field and 1/4 from three for a total of 9 points. Small Forward Troy Brown Jr. was one of the players on the Wizards who struggled starting the quarter, shooting 0/1 from the field and 0/0 from the three point mark for no points. Despite the decent start to the 2nd Quarter, the Cavaliers struggled scoring to round out the period, gaining 14 points while going 4/11 from the field and 1/3 from deep. 3rd Quarter

The 3rd Quarter kicked off as expected as the Cavaliers went 5/9 from the field and 0/1 from deep in the first half of the quarter for a total of 12 points. Power Forward Kevin Love was a major contributor in this good start as he gained 6 points on 2/2 shooting (0/0 from the three point mark). Love also pulled off 1 block and grabbed 3 rebounds in addition to points. On the other hand, the Wizards had trouble in the beginning, scoring 6/15 from the field and 2/4 from the three point mark for a total of 15 points. Shooting Guard Bradley Beal was one player on the Wizards who had issues at the start of the quarter, shooting 1/5 from the field and 1/1 from deep for 3 points. Center Thomas Bryant added 5 points, had 1 assist, added 1 steal, and pulled down 1 rebound. Point Guard Isaiah Thomas scored 5 points.
