Cavaliers and 76ers regular season game recap

During Sunday evening’s event, the Cleveland Cavaliers slammed the Philadelphia 76ers 118-94 at home in Cleveland, OH at the Rocket Mortgage FieldHouse. All players on the Cavaliers were active for the game. At the same time, Joel Embiid was out for the 76ers. The defeat brings the Cavaliers to 1-0 in the series vs. the 76ers and to 3-0 in the regular season.

For the Cavaliers, Andre Drummond gained a team-high 24 points in 25:40, shooting 11/18 (61.1%) from the field. In addition to his points, Drummond also managed to grab an admirable team-high 14 rebounds and grabbed 3 steals. Darius Garland scored 14 points, scoring 7/15 (46.7%) from the field in 28:56. In addition to points, Garland also made a team-high 7 assists. Additional significant contributors were Larry Nance Jr. (who got 5 assists),Collin Sexton (who had 22 points), JaVale McGee (who pulled down 6 rebounds), and Dante Exum (who passed out 6 assists).

For the 76ers, Tobias Harris scored a team-high 16 points in 28:21, shooting 5/10 (50.0%) from the field and 4/6 (66.7%) from the three point mark. Despite the sluggish start to the 1st Quarter, the Cavaliers polished up their shooting to wrap up the quarter, boasting 17 points while going 7/12 from the field and 3/5 from three. The 76ers, concurrently, struggled while finishing out the period, scoring 9 points on 3/11 shooting (1/4 from three). The 1st Quarter closed with the Cavaliers leading by 5 points (29-24). 2nd Quarter

The 2nd Quarter was set off with a fast pace as the Cavaliers shot 8/13 from the field and 2/3 from three in the first half of the quarter for a total of 20 points. Power Forward Larry Nance Jr. was a key contributor in this decent start as he recorded 7 points on 3/3 shooting (1/1 from the three point mark). In addition to his points, Nance Jr. also swiped 1 steal. Center Andre Drummond gained 6 points, had 2 blocks, and added 5 rebounds. Damyean Dotson recorded 5 points. In contrast, the 76ers struggled at the start of the period, shooting 4/15 from the field and 0/3 from deep for a total of 10 points. Power Forward Tobias Harris was one of the players on the 76ers who had a slow start to the quarter, shooting 0/1 from the field and 0/0 from three for no points. 3rd Quarter

The 3rd Quarter was set off with no major issues as the Cavaliers shot 7/12 from the field and 0/1 from three in the first half of the quarter for a total of 16 points. Dante Exum was a major player in this principled start as he added 6 points on 3/3 shooting (0/0 from three). Exum also passed out 1 assist, grabbed 1 steal, and pulled down 1 rebound. 4th Quarter

The 4th Quarter was set in motion with the team shooting lights-out as the Cavaliers went 9/9 from the field and 1/1 from the three point mark in the first half of the quarter for a total of 19 points. Center Andre Drummond was a crucial player in this strong start as he added 4 points on 2/2 shooting (0/0 from deep). Furthermore, Drummond also had 1 assist and had 2 rebounds.
