Cavaliers and Bucks regular season game recap

During Saturday evening’s matchup, the Cleveland Cavaliers lost against the Milwaukee Bucks 90-100 away in Milwaukee, WI at the Fiserv Forum. Darius Garland and Collin Sexton were out for the Cavaliers. At the same time, Everyone was active for the Bucks. With the victory, the Cavaliers rise to 5-5 in the regular season and to 0-1 vs. the Bucks in the series.

For the Cavaliers, Andre Drummond scored a team-high 26 points, shooting 11/23 (47.8%) from the field in 41:17. In addition, Drummond also pulled down a breathtaking team-high 24 rebounds. Damyean Dotson boasted 21 points in 41:03, going 8/17 (47.1%) from the field. In addition to his points, Dotson also dished out a team-high 8 assists. Other critical efforts included Cedi Osman (who grabbed 5 rebounds),Larry Nance Jr. (who gained 17 points and swiped 4 steals), and JaVale McGee (who added 5 rebounds).

For the Bucks, Khris Middleton added a team-high 27 points in 35:28, shooting 10/16 (62.5%) from the field and 3/6 (50.0%) from the three point mark. Middleton also added a team-high 6 assists and got 5 rebounds. Bobby Portis boasted 17 points, shooting 7/11 (63.6%) from the field in 33:27. Additionally, Portis also got an important team-high 11 rebounds and swiped a solid 4 steals. Other important contributions were achieved by Brook Lopez (who grabbed an important 8 rebounds),Donte DiVincenzo (who had 4 assists),Jrue Holiday (who got 15 points, managed to grab an important 6 rebounds, added a solid 4 steals, and dished 4 assists), and D.J. Augustin (who added 5 assists).

1st Quarter

The Cavaliers had trouble getting things going at the start of the 1st Quarter, recording 2/6 from the field and 0/2 from the three point mark in the first half of the quarter for a total of 5 points. Small Forward Cedi Osman was included in those who had a slow start to the quarter, shooting 0/1 from the field and 0/1 from the three point mark for no points. Power Forward Larry Nance Jr. recorded 2 points. Point Guard Damyean Dotson got 2 points and had 1 rebound. The Bucks had issues in similar fashion in the beginning, scoring 5/14 from the field and 0/6 from three for a total of 12 points. Point Guard Jrue Holiday was included in those on the Bucks who had trouble contributing at the start of the quarter, shooting 1/3 from the field and 0/1 from the three point mark for 2 points. Power Forward Bobby Portis got 10 points, dished 1 assist, and pulled down 3 rebounds.

After the dismal start to the 1st Quarter, the Cavaliers continued to struggle to close out the period, gaining 9 points while going 4/12 from the field and 1/5 from the three point mark. The Bucks, concurrently, had no trouble closing out the period, adding 15 points on 5/9 shooting (2/2 from three). The 1st Quarter finished with the Cavaliers trailing the Bucks by 13 points (14-27). Bobby Portis was the biggest contributor of the quarter, scoring 12 points. On the Cavaliers, Damyean Dotson scored 7 points.

2nd Quarter

Trailing the Bucks, the Cavaliers were persistent as they shot 6/10 from the field and 0/0 from three in the first half of the quarter for a total of 13 points. Center Andre Drummond was a crucial player in this good start as he recorded 9 points on 4/5 shooting (0/0 from the three point mark). Drummond also got 1 assist and pulled down 3 rebounds in addition to his points. In comparison, the Bucks struggled at the start of the quarter, making 3/11 from the field and 2/6 from three for a total of 8 points. D.J. Wilson was one of the players on the Bucks who struggled starting the quarter, shooting 2/4 from the field and 1/1 from the three point mark for 5 points. D.J. Wilson gained 5 points, dished 1 assist, and managed to grab 1 rebound.

Despite the decent start to the 2nd Quarter, the Cavaliers faced difficulties shooting to wrap up the quarter, adding 10 points while going 4/11 from the field and 1/3 from three. The Bucks, meanwhile, faced no issues while finishing up the period, scoring 12 points on 6/12 shooting (0/3 from three). The 2nd Quarter finished with the Cavaliers down by 10 points (37-47). 3rd Quarter

The 3rd Quarter kicked off with the Cavaliers struggling to get things going, scoring 5/12 from the field and 1/4 from the three point mark in the first half of the quarter for a total of 11 points. Small Forward Cedi Osman was one of the players who had issues at the start of the quarter, shooting 1/3 from the field and 0/1 from deep for 2 points. Power Forward Larry Nance Jr. scored 3 points, added 1 steal, and managed to grab 1 rebound. Likewise, the Bucks also had trouble in the first half of the quarter, shooting 4/10 from the field and 1/4 from the three point mark for a total of 11 points. Center Brook Lopez was included in those on the Bucks who had trouble contributing at the start of the quarter, shooting 1/4 from the field and 0/2 from the three point mark for 2 points. Power Forward Bobby Portis recorded 5 points and had 1 rebound.

The Bucks also faced no issues while closing up the period, boasting 20 points on 8/14 shooting (3/6 from the three point mark). The 3rd Quarter ended with the Cavaliers trailing the Bucks by 15 points (63-78). Khris Middleton was the main contributor of the quarter, scoring 10 points. 4th Quarter

The Cavaliers had a rough go at the beginning of the 4th Quarter, going 5/14 from the field and 2/4 from three in the first half of the quarter for a total of 12 points. Center Andre Drummond was among those who had trouble contributing at the start of the quarter, shooting 1/5 from the field and 0/1 from three for 2 points. Power Forward Larry Nance Jr. had 6 points, dished out 1 assist, added 1 block, and added 1 steal. Comparingly, the Bucks also had issues at the start of the quarter, making 2/7 from the field and 1/5 from deep for a total of 6 points.
